Since the office is closed, I got to have a luxurious two-week vacation in the middle of July. How nice!
Ohhh, vacation. A great time to either relax and take time to properly recharge OR to fill your schedule with every single fun thing that can possibly fit, and run around the country like you’re in some kind of race. I’ve done the latter. From Tampere to Kokkola, then via Jyväskylä to Joensuu, from Joensuu to Helsinki for like half a day, then to Tampere for the weekend again. A lot of friends and family time. NOW I’m settling down in Helsinki (hopefully) for the rest of the week. The plan is to not make too many plans.

First stop:  I took a train to see Ida in Kokkola, because that’s where she’s from. I stayed there for a couple of days. It’s quite a small city, but so charming in summer. I love Ida for being so organised and good at planning stuff – for each day, she had made a list of things for us to do and see. It included a day trip to Pietarsaari, visiting nice local cafés and restaurants, an outside cross training session, a morning swim, meeting with her friends for drinks, cycling around at night, going shopping and sightseeing, having ice cream by the pier…and I think we managed to cross almost every single thing off the list. Satisfying! And most of all a great time. We were also blessed by the weather gods. Hot & sunny everyday, wohoo. Enjoy the pics!

It’s my birthday. At least 23 sounds more sophisticated and adult-y than 22.
I spent 8 hours of today sitting in a hot car… But I also felt gratitude for little things like fresh strawberries, family time, life’s casualties.

I wonder if this year will go by even faster. Not sure how that’d be possible honestly…
Trying to take it one day at a time.
Guess I’ll see you soon, age 24 🙂
